Inocence Test Explained: What It Asks, How It Works and How It Differs From Other Quizzes
By Rayan Holt 12-10-2026 7

Type "inocence test" into a search bar and you will find thousands of results, even though the spelling is a little off. That tells you how popular this quiz is. People want to know how innocent they are compared with a list of life experiences, and they want an answer in just a few minutes. This guide explains what the innocence test is, what kinds of questions it asks, how the scoring works, and how it is different from other online quizzes.

What Is the Inocence Test?

The inocence test, more commonly spelled innocence test, is a self-scoring quiz made of 100 yes-or-no questions about life experiences. You start with 100 points, and every time you answer yes, one point is deducted. Your final number shows how many of the listed experiences you have had. A higher score means fewer experiences, and a lower score means more.

The idea comes from the Rice Purity Test, which began at Rice University in 1924 as a friendly way to help new students get to know each other. Today the quiz appears under many names, and innocence test is one of the most common.

Why Do So Many People Misspell It?

Many people type the name quickly or hear it spoken instead of reading it, so you will often see variations like inocence test, inocent test or innocense test. Search engines understand all of these, and they lead to the same type of quiz. The correct spelling is innocence, but the quiz itself is exactly the same no matter how you type it.

What Kinds of Questions Does It Ask?

The questions are grouped around everyday life and grow more personal as the list continues. Most versions include topics such as:

Small everyday rule-breaking, like staying out late or skipping class

Social habits, such as parties, drinks and nights out with friends

Relationships and dating

School, work and daily responsibilities

More mature topics that are best suited for adults

You do not have to share your answers with anyone. The quiz only uses them to calculate your score.

How the Scoring Works

Start with 100 points.

Answer each question honestly with yes or no.

Lose one point for every yes.

The number left at the end is your score.

People usually read the results like this:

100 to 98: Very few experiences so far.

97 to 65: A typical range for many first-year students.

64 to 30: A wide mix of experiences.

29 to 0: Very rare, and it means almost everything on the list has been ticked off.

How Is It Different From Other Quizzes?

Innocence test vs personality quizzes

A personality quiz tries to describe who you are using traits and types. The innocence test does not describe your personality at all. It only counts experiences.

Innocence test vs trivia quizzes

Trivia has right and wrong answers. The innocence test has none. Every honest answer is correct.

Innocence test vs purity test

These are two names for the same idea. The classic name is rice purity test, while innocence test is a more casual way to describe it.

Innocence test vs "would you rather" games

Would-you-rather games are about opinions. The innocence test is about what you have actually done, which is why it feels more personal.

Is the Test Accurate?

No. It was not designed by psychologists, and it is meant purely for entertainment. People understand questions in different ways, so two people with the same score may have very different lives. Use the result as a conversation starter and nothing more.

Tips for Taking It

Answer honestly, since the result only means something when your answers are real.

Do not treat the score as a competition.

Take it on your own first, then share it only if you want.

Retake it once a year to see how your number changes.

If you are under 18, think about whether the mature questions are right for you.
