How the Rawrr Mantis Mini R Is Changing the Mini Electric Dirt Bike Experience

By roseeee 23-10-2026 6

Mini electric dirt bikes used to mean toy-like builds with basic brakes and no way to grow with the rider. The rawrr mantis dirt bike takes a different approach, and the details on the product listing show why riders and parents are paying attention. At Wyrd Ryds, we carry the Mini R and Mini R17, so this blog sticks to what the listing actually states, including the limits, followed by an FAQ.

The Headline Features

Based on the product page, these are the details that matter most:

Two sizes: Mini R (14 inch front, 12 inch rear wheels) and Mini R17 (17 inch front, 14 inch rear)
Power platform: 72V, 20Ah battery with an FOC sine-wave controller
App-enabled controller: Allows power and speed adjustments
Hydraulic disc brakes: Four-piston front, two-piston rear, 203mm rotors
Suspension: 110mm front fork stroke and 60mm adjustable rear shock travel
Weight: 119.1 lb (Mini R) or 125.7 lb (R17), excluding battery
Max load: 165 lb

Two Sizes With Room To Grow

The manufacturer describes the bikes as built for different rider heights while delivering the same thrill. The two wheel configurations let families choose a suitable starting fit, and compatible wheel kits provide a path to a larger setup as the rider grows. The listing asks buyers to confirm conversion-kit compatibility with us before ordering.

App-Controlled Power

An app-enabled controller lets you adjust power and speed. For a parent, that means a gentler setting while a rider is learning. For a more experienced rider, it means the bike can be tuned as skills improve. The rawrr mantis dirt bike is also supplied with a 20 mph speed restriction, and the listing is explicit that it is speed and power limited and must not be bypassed or modified.

A Real Brake And Suspension Package

Many small bikes cut corners on stopping power. The rawrr mantis dirt bike lists hydraulic discs with a four-piston front caliper and 203mm rotors, which is a serious setup for a bike this size. The suspension figures are worth reading carefully: the 60mm figure is rear shock travel, not rear wheel travel, as the listing itself points out. That honesty helps you compare it fairly with other bikes.

Built-In Safety Integration

RAWRR lists a safety package that includes a kill switch, rollaway protection, brake override, and Auto Park. These features help, but they are not a substitute for supervision and protective gear.

Where It Has Limits

An honest picture includes the constraints:

Weight limit: The maximum load is 165 lb, so larger riders need a bigger bike
Off-road use only: The listing says the bike is sold for off-road or track use only
Range varies: The manual test lists at least 28 miles at 15.5 mph, but actual range varies, and charge time is not specified in the current manual
Lighting: Brake light only, so it is not set up for night riding on roads
Adults buy it: You must be 18 or older to purchase, and ID verification is required

Check The Ordering Terms

Before you order, read the order terms on the page. They list a 5% cancellation fee, no returns once an item has shipped, and separate freight, local delivery, and pickup options. Reading these in advance avoids surprises.

Gear And Supervision

Even a mini bike can cause serious injury. Pair it with a certified helmet, gloves, and body armor, supervise younger riders, and start in an open area.

Final Thoughts

The rawrr mantis dirt bike stands out less for gimmicks and more for substance: sized options, app-controlled power, proper hydraulic brakes, and a safety package. It is not for every rider, given the weight limit and off-road restriction, but for the right rider it is a thoughtful design. Wyrd Ryds is happy to help you pick between the Mini R and R17 and confirm what is in stock.
