Screw and Barrel Manufacturer in india
Injection Moulding Screw Barrel
Consistent plasticising is essential for repeatable shot weight, recovery time, and moulded-part quality. We provide injection moulding screw barrel solutions for commodity and engineering polymers, with configurations selected for your machine, resin, shot-size utilisation, and processing conditions.
Available options can include general-purpose screws, mixing screws, check-ring assemblies, nozzles, tips, end caps, nitrided components, bimetallic barrels, or hard-faced screws.
Extruder Screw Barrel
An extruder screw barrel must deliver a stable, homogeneous melt continuously. Screw profile, L/D ratio, compression, mixing, venting, temperature control, and head pressure all influence output.
We support extrusion applications including pipe, profile, blown film, sheet, cable, monofilament, raffia, recycling. If your goal is higher throughput, better mixing, lower melt temperature, or improved recycled-material processing, share the target during the design review.
Single and Twin Screw Barrel
Single-screw systems are widely used for continuous plastic processing. Twin-screw systems are selected for applications requiring controlled mixing, compounding, devolatilisation, or PVC processing.
We manufacture or service single, conical twin, parallel twin, co-rotating, counter-rotating, segmented configurations. Twin components require accurate matching, phasing, alignment, and working clearance, so machine details and an approved drawing are essential.
Bimetallic Screw Barrel
Glass fibre, minerals, pigments, corrosive additives, and contaminated recyclate can shorten the life of standard components. A bimetallic screw barrel uses a wear-resistant or corrosion-resistant alloy in the areas exposed to demanding service.
Depending on the application, the barrel may use an alloy lining while the screw flights receive compatible hard-facing. The alloy must match the failure mechanism. Bimetallic construction can improve durability, but it cannot correct unsuitable geometry, poor alignment, uncontrolled temperature, or dirty raw material.
Nitrided Screw Barrel
Nitrided steel offers a practical combination of surface hardness, wear resistance, and value for many general-purpose polymers. It can be a suitable choice for unfilled or moderately demanding processing when machine alignment and operating conditions are controlled.
Ask for measurable details such as the base-steel specification, surface hardness, effective case depth, final finish, and working clearance rather than relying on the word “nitrided” alone.
Screw Barrel Repair and Refurbishment
Not every worn component requires immediate replacement. Some screws can be rebuilt by restoring worn flights with a compatible hard-facing alloy and machining the original profile. Some barrels may be suitable for relining, honing, or other controlled refurbishment.
Feasibility depends on straightness, cracks, corrosion, substrate condition, previous repairs, and remaining dimensions. Our team can assess the component and explain whether repair, replacement, or a material upgrade offers the lower operational risk.

Match the Material to the Wear Environment
Polymer name alone is not enough for material selection. Filler percentages, additives, contamination, drying, and annual operating hours can change the requirement significantly.
| Material or process | Primary concern | Possible starting point for discussion |
|---|---|---|
| Unfilled PP, HDPE, or LDPE | General melting and output | Nitrided or application-specific general-purpose design |
| Glass-filled PA, PBT, PC, or similar compounds | Abrasive wear | Bimetallic barrel and compatible wear-resistant screw |
| PVC or CPVC | Heat sensitivity and possible corrosion | Controlled-shear geometry and suitable corrosion protection |
| Mineral-filled compounds or masterbatch | Abrasion and dispersion | Wear-resistant metallurgy with the correct mixing section |
| PET | Moisture, residence time, and degradation | Polymer-specific geometry with correct drying and temperature control |
| Recycled plastic | Contamination, variable feed, and wear | Wear protection, filtration, venting, and metal-separation review |
This table is a starting point, not a final specification. Send the complete material composition so the recommendation reflects the real processing environment.
