Disappointing Experience – I feel cheated

I had a highly disappointing experience with Singapore Top Immigration.

1. I initially contacted them to assess my eligibility. They told me my profile had high chances of success. We exchanged a few emails and, once again, they stated my profile was "very strong".

2. I was told their success rate was 95% (Jan–Aug 2024).

3. They said they would do an in-depth analysis on my previous PR applications to assess which information I had provided previously to ICA (which they never did)

4. To convince me of their quality service they said "Choose the agency that can help you obtained successfully and not by the fee. Go by quality"

5. I decided to trust them and paid in advance 3,815 SGD.

6. Once I paid, they simply sent the standard list of documents which I had to complete myself.

7. They connected me to Singapore Red Cross (which I was already a member) and to a MAS licenced financial advisor to do a report (the cost it's about SGD250), which was included in the price.

8. They told me that my application would be enhanced if I would do a donation. They shared a link of a campaign under Give.asia launched by Singapore Top Immigration.

9. I carefully crafted the information and I sent to STI. A couple weeks after, the "specialist" sent me the Cover letter finalized based on the information I had written.

10. We submitted the application to ICA via my own Singpass.

11. They asked me for a Google review. They insisted me to do a review, saying "it would help them a ton"

12. After submitting my application to the ICA, I discovered that the cover letter had been entirely crafted using AI. I ran it through several detection tools, all of which confirmed it was 100% AI-generated. I was genuinely surprised—STI had mentioned the letter would be crafted by a professional writer.

13. 4 months later, my application was rejected.

14. I had applied on my own two years prior and received the same outcome— making me question what actual value they added.

15. When I asked for clarification, they simply blamed “quota limitations.” Only after the result, STI said it might be due to my nationality and stated approvals come mostly for british, turkish, french, chinese, indians and koreans. Information I had never received before and could have changed me deciding to apply.

16. I hired the agency to be transparent and professional and assess my chances of getting PR. If I had been properly advised, I could have made an informed decision.

17. The service did not add meaningful value. What they did was connect me to Red Cross (which i was already a member), send me a link to do a donation, connect me to a MAS licenced financial advisor and finalize my cover letter (which now I know has been crafted by AI).

My recommendation: look elsewhere. Don’t be swayed by awards or impressive-looking photos. The service did not justify the cost, and the value added was minimal at best.
