In practice, thinner grades flow and spread fast, so they suit carriers, textile auxiliaries and polish additives. Mid-range grades handle release, lubrication and antifoam work. Thicker grades hold their film longer, which is why they turn up in damping and dielectric duty.
Heat and Shear Grades: AK stab, AK visc and AKC
Wacker itself points buyers to the AK stab, AK visc and AKC lines when heat and shear are the problem. AKC runs from 6,000 to 50,000 mPa·s and is rated for continuous service up to 250 °C. Think fan clutches, visco clutches and vibration dampers. Put a standard AK fluid in that duty and you're on viscosity drift.

Viscosity on a datasheet is a lab number at a fixed temperature. Your machine runs somewhere else.
